Abstract

The authors have studied in detail the pore structure of cement stone. It is demonstrated that in the presence of plasticizing additives, the total specific surface area of the hydrate phases of cement stone and the pore size change. A correlation has been established between frost resistance and the structural features of cement stone. It is demonstrated that plasticizing additives affect the total volume of voidness of the material structure, but this is not always accompanied by a decrease in the surface area of the pores. A hypothesis is formulated about the relationship between the nature of the pore structure of cement stone and the nature of the chemical additives used.

Key words:

cement stone, durability, frost resistance, specific surface area, structure, porosity, additives, plasticizers
