Abstract

In December 2021, cement production in the Russian Federation increased by 12.1 % by December 2020 and amounted to 3.7 million tons. Increase in production in 2021 compared to 2020 was 7.5 % to 60.1 million tons.
In December 2021, shipments of cement to Russia increased by 11.3 % by December 2020 and amounted to 3.6 million tons. Increase in January-shipments 2021 to January-shipments 2020 was 8.1 % to 60.2 million tons.
Railway transport of cement in the Russian Federation in December 2021 increased by 2.2 % compared to the corresponding month previous year to 1.5 million tons. Rail transport of cement in the Russian Federation in 2021 increased by 5.7  % compared to the corresponding period previous year to 26.0 million tons, while in the total volume of deliveries the share of transportation of cement by rail transport decreased from 44.0 % to 42.9 %.
Imports of cement in the Russian Federation in December 2021 decreased by 20.7 % compared to the corresponding month of the previous year to 69 thousand tons. The volume of import of cement in the Russian Federation in 2021 increased by 23.0 % compared to previous year and amounted to 1,687 thousand tons.
Exports of cement from the Russian Federation in December 2021 by December 2020 increased by 62.0 % to 75 thousand tons. The volume of export of cement from the Russian Federation for the period 2021 by 2020 increased by 8.8 % to 1,234 thousand tons.
Cement consumption increase in December 2021 by December 2020 is 9.7 % to 3.6 million tons. Increased consumption in 2021 by 2020 — 8.4 % to 60.7 million tons.
Producer prices (excluding VAT and delivery) in December 2021 compared to November 2021 increased by 0.9 % and amounted to 4,313 rubles/ton. Purchase prices (including VAT and delivery) decreased by 1.9 % and amounted to 5,202 rubles/ton.
The volume of the Russian cement market in value terms in December 2021 increased by 18.5 % compared to the corresponding month previous year to 18.6 billion rubles. In 2021, this indicator increased by 13.9 % to the level of the corresponding period previous year and amounted to 319.5 billion rubles.
