Лабораторные условия обеспечивают проведение испытаний в сжатые сроки, с одинаковым набором тест-организмов, при одинаковой интенсивности воздействия на грибы набора важнейших экологических факторов (температуры, влажности, наличия или отсутствия дополнительных источников питания).[:en]Negative effects on the person and the internal environment of buildings by microscopic fungi can be drastically reduced by using concretes in construction in which the growth of micromycetes is inhibited because of the properties of the material itself. As the properties of the material depend on the properties of its components, to discover the causes for non-fungal resistance of concretes that are already used, and to develop new fungal-resistance and fungicidal compounds, it is necessary to have information about the resistance to the mycological effect of the components of which they are made. Concretes consist of a cohesive (binding agent), stuffer and/or filler. Furthermore, their composition may include arming elements and additives of various functions. The resistance to the effect of micromycetes of some components is well-known, but not about other components. To discover components that are capable of resisting attack of material by micromycetes, and selecting components that are the most resistance to the effects of fungus for new composites, we studied the fungal resistance and fungicidal nature of three types of non-organic cohesives (represented by 44 compounds), 25 types of stuffers and fillers of non-organic nature and 8 polymeric cohesives. Materials considered to be fungus resistant are those which cannot be the only source of nutrition for micromycetes, and fungicidal materials are toxic for fungi, suppressing their development even in conditions when they are fully provided with elements of nutrition. The lack of fungal resistance of non-organic components of concretes is the consequence of organic pollution. Organic mixtures in natural raw material that are allowed under current state standards, external polluters, dying micro-organisms, make it possible for heterotropes — fungi — to develop on the material. The amount of organic matter and the degree of its accessibility for fungi in different non-organic fillers and cohesives is different, so one can select fungus-resistance, which in standard laboratory tests (state standard 9.049-91, method 1), only a very weak growth of fungus is observed, or fungi do not develop at all. Fungicidal materials and materials that are resistant to the effect of micromycetes in the presence of external polluters reveal with a high provision of test-organisms mineral and organic substances (state standard 9.049-91, method 3). Laboratory conditions ensure that tests are carried out in brief periods, an identical selection of test organisms, with identical intensiveness of the effects on fungi of the selection of important ecological factors (temperature, moisture, presence or absence of additional sources of nutrition).[:]
