Construction and installation work on the grate cooler of the rotary kiln is coming to an end № 9 of “Iskitimcement” is coming to an end.
01.08.2022

JSC “Iskitimcement” (managing company – JSC “HC “Sibcement”) has reached the finish line of works on technical re-equipment of the grate cooler aspiration system of rotary kiln №9. Works on increasing the efficiency of cleaning up to 99.9% are almost finished and in June the commissioning and acceptance works by the supervision of the installation engineer are planned to be completed.

The project is implemented as part of the environmental efficiency improvement program, which is an integral part of the integrated environmental permit. Due to commissioning of the new equipment the company plans to reduce inorganic dust emissions containing from 20 to 70% of silicon dioxide.
The dusty excess air of the Volga-50 grate cooler will be purified by a more efficient aspiration system with a bag filter of 380,000 m³/hour capacity. To clean the dusty aspiration air of clinker transferring from the chiller’s hammer crusher to the plate conveyor of kiln No.9 and from the clinker conveyor of kiln No.9 to the clinker conveyor of furnaces No.6-8, bag filters are provided with an output of 20 000 m³/hour and 12 000 m³/hour, complete with smoke exhausters. Chain scraper conveyors are used to return the captured dust to the technological process.
As a reminder, earlier, in May 2019, a similar filter was commissioned on the grate cooler of rotary kiln No. 6. The equipment confirmed its effectiveness: the amount of dust emitted from the cooler into the atmosphere decreased 160 times. The same result is expected from the commissioning of the new aspiration equipment at the rotary kiln No. 9.
In addition, within the framework of the program on increasing ecological efficiency to reduce emissions in the furnace gases a plan of measures was developed using the best available technologies which provides for the use of low-NOx burners on all rotary kilns of the size of ø4.5-5×175 m. The contractor company’s specialists have started replacement of the gas burner on the furnace No.9, the works are being performed according to the approved schedule.
“Commissioning of rotary kiln №9 with a new gas burner and a bag filter installed on the grate cooler is planned for the third quarter of 2022. The costs of these two projects will amount to about 350 million rubles, – says Vladimir Skakun, Managing Director of Iskitimcement. – Similar work will have to be done in 2022-2023 on kiln #7 as well”.
