Eurocement delivers first cement cars to Kaliningrad region in 2023
Moscow, February 01, 2023 – Eurocement, Russia’s largest cement and building materials producer, shipped 256 cement cars to Kaliningrad Region in January 2023. The company is currently supplying finished products to the region by land and sea routes. In the first month of the year Eurocement shipped more than 17 thousand tons of cement.
Based on the experience of last year, the company has optimized logistics chains, activated the necessary transport capacities, as well as determined the right number of railcars for uninterrupted cement shipments and introduced extra shifts. Last year Eurocement delivered around half a million tons of cement to construction sites in the Kaliningrad region. The company is confident that in 2023 it will also be able to meet the needs of the region in the basic building material.
To date, Eurocement has prepared a cement supply plan for the Kaliningrad region in accordance with consumer demands. In 2023 the company is ready to meet 100% of the region’s needs and supply the required amount of cement.
“Last year, thanks to the governmental mechanism of subsidizing sea transportation between Kaliningrad and other regions, we established stable logistics, which we are using this year as well. In addition to the sea route, we already ship cement by rail through Lithuania. Lithuanian authorities have agreed on a quota of around 239 thousand tons of cement for 2023. Thanks to this Eurocement company will be able to supply additional volume of finished products via the overland route and fully meet the cement needs of the region”, – noted Denis Nazarov, Director of Purchasing and Logistics of Eurocement.
