Abstract
The presidential elections in February 2010 should end a yearlong stalemate in the country and this shift in power should enable to drive on projects halted in attendance of the outcome. Especially with regards to the upcoming Euro 2012 for soccer substantial investment in infrastructure has to be undertaken.
The Economy stabilized after a steep recession (23 % drop in Q4/08 and Q1/09) with a 4-5 % growth in Q2 and Q3 in 2009. Export-oriented industries (such as mining, chemicals, steel) rebounded earlier and stronger than those relying on domestic demand; therefore an overall modest growth is expected for 2010 (Table 1).
