Abstract
The largest bridge along the motorway ring road of Wrocław (Poland) is the cable-stayed Rędziński Bridge over the Odra River. It is 1742 m long and consists of three substructures. The south access flyover is a 610 m long, eleven-span continuous box structure made of prestressed concrete, with spans of 40 + 2 × 52 + 56 + 6 × 60 + 50 m. The north flyover is a 520 m long (50 + 7 × 60 + 50 m) nine span continuous beam made of prestressed concrete. The main bridge is a 612 m long cable stayed structure with spans of 50 + 2 × 256 + 50 m. It has two separate decks suspended to a single H-shaped pylon situated on the island between the main river bed and two water channels.
The paper describes construction technology of the Rędziński Bridge. Superstructure of the main bridge and the north flyover were longitudinally launched. The south flyover was erected span by span, using two sets of steel movable scaffolding. The pylon was built with the use of movable scaffolding.
The bridge with a deck area of approximately 65 000 m2 was constructed within 36 months.
