Abstract
Natural or artificially prepared granular materials with certain grain composition are used as filling aggregates in building mortar mixtures. Filling aggregates occupy up to 80 % of the whole volume of mortar mixtures, and enable to reduce consumption of binding materials (at the same time without decrease of the mortar strength) as well as to decrease shrinking deformation of a hardening system.
Main parameters of filling aggregates defining their influence onto technological, building and technical properties of mortar mixtures, are grain composition, shape and character of grains surface, water demand, presence of dust and clay particles, content of clay in lumps and presence of different impurities. Mineralogical composition also plays an important role.
