Abstract
In the article, the grain and chemical composition and plasticity of clays from Turkestan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan are studied, as well as the reactivity of clays during firing, depending on the structural properties of the clay mineral forming the rock. It is shown that the reactions of phase formation during firing, determining the physical properties of products, proceed differently depending on the composition. The article considers the water absorption and density of samples from clay raw materials, loess rock and aluminosilicate shales. All of the above parameters were considered in terms of the possibility to use these materials for production of ceramic products.
