Abstract
The article covers issues of cutting the consumption of mineral power resources, which are becoming more and more expensive, in industrial production and in the power sector by using alternative types of fuel that is produced from various sorts of waste. Problems of involvement of the generated waste in the economy as an alternative fuel are reviewed (on the example of municipal solid waste) and solutions are proposed. Specific characteristics of alternative fuels and results of investigations of their use for cement production are described.
