Abstract

Some milestones in Mortar history are mentioned. The Portuguese Mortar situation is described including the Portuguese Mortar Conferences and the strategic relationship between Brazil and Portugal. A brief description of the European Mortar Industry Organization (EMO) is provided with some reflections on the Mortar situation in Europe.
EMOdico, the Technical Dictionary of Mortars, is presented. The paper ends with some facts that in the near future will affect Mortar in Europe.
