Abstract

We would like to discuss how the cement industry in Russia has developed in recent years, and in 2005-2007 it showed a positive dynamic of development.

Growth of consumption in this period came to:

2005 — 45.6 Mt (+5 %);

2006 — 52.2 Mt (+15 %);

2007 — 60.3 Mt (+15 %).

Retirement of facilities was stopped (minimum as of 01.01.2005 — 67.8 Mt), and their growth was ensured (for 2005–2006 a growth of 5.4 Mt). The capacity as of 1 January 2008 was 77.9 Mt (+4.7 Mt by 2007).
