Abstract
Today the turnover of counterfeit products in the world is a real challenge to the world economy, as every year the production of fakes is growing by more than 20 %. It is predicted that such high rates will remain until 2015, while the volume of world counterfeit could reach $ 1.7 trillion.
The report of European Commissioner for Revenue and Customs, Algirdas Semeta, shows the amount of € 1.3 billion of confiscated counterfeit products (about 115 million fakes) in 2011. These are medications — 24 % of the total number of counterfeits, packaging — 21 %, cigarettes — 18 %. The rest are food, cosmetics, toys and building materials which are not infrequently pose a serious health hazard. Roughly three-quarters of counterfeit goods were manufactured in China, the majority of fake food — in Turkey, alcoholic beverages in Panama, mobile phones in Hong Kong [1].
