Abstract

This article presents an innovation technique of industrial-scale production of artificial minerals by the example of cement clinker on the basis of the melt and heat technology. This technology enables obtaining a rather marketable product — high-purity carbon dioxide.
The analysis of locations of conventional cement production facilities as a function of fossil fuel, as well as the actual ecological situation in their vicinity (30 % of the weight of burnt clinker materials is discharged in the form of carbon dioxide, in addition to the products of fossil fuel combustion) indicates the necessity of the introduction of multi-site operations at minor deposits avoiding the environmental impact and based nearer to end users. The melt and heat technology enables implementing this approach and avoiding all types of emissions, since the discharged carbon dioxide is collected and offered as commercial product in any required physical state — gaseous, liquid, or in the form of dry ice.
Thus, the comprehensive approach to the regional problems can promote not only the creation of new jobs and the localized supplies of high-quality cements avoiding the local environmental impacts, but can also provide for the supply of carbon dioxide to granaries, greenhouse facilities, welding shops and foundries, the polymer and rubber production and processing factories, etc.
