Abstract

Production levels and the characteristics of NO_x have been studied experimentally according to the particular circumstances of cement manufacturing systems. Results from both lab experiments and cement manufacturing systems indicate the following: the concentration of NO_x emissions in cement production is determined by the content of nitrogen in the raw materials and fuel used in cement manufacture, fuel types and the calcining temperature for clinker. The major existing de-NO_x technologies and the corresponding application requirements have been compared. Technologies compatible with cement kilns have been selected for industrial tests. The results indicate that high-emitting NOx cement manufacturing systems require long-term, effective and low-cost de-NO_x technology to be implemented in cement manufacturing enterprises.
