Abstract

New prospects of the development of ash slag materials market have been considered including the products of new production process concerning burning of coal and shales bound up with increase in consumption of solid fuel at heat power stations. New production abilities of the ash and slag properties improvement have been proved when new dry technologies were introduced during ash and slag storage. It is recommended to combine the electricity generation and construction industry production on the basis of the ash slags in the united production plants of heat power industry.

Coal heat power industry has traditionally been one of important sources of mineral raw material for construction materials production. The peculiarity of the present moment in Russia consists in synchronously going modernization of both power industry and construction production, in particular, binders manufacture. Reorganization and modernization of the country’s power industry supposes new Thermal Power Stations (TPS) construction as well as utilization of coal as the main power source in the branch. At the conference held in June of current year in Novosibirsk, dedicated to widening of heat power industry ash slag materials’ utilization, the construction industry was determined as one of main directions for that [1].

At present as Mineral By-Products (MBP) of domestic power industry are mainly ash-slag mixtures from TPS hydraulic-mine dumps. So called «fly ash», the most dispersive component of fuel’s mineral part collected from electro filters’ dust chambers is used substantially less often. Compared to dumped ash-slag the fly ash has more stable phase and grain composition and contains practically no humidity. The MBP properties to the significant degree depend also on their chemical composition, fuel combustion technology, removal method and further storage of ash-slag.
