Abstract
This paper examines how polycarboxylate ether (PCE) polymers based products influence the environmental footprint of concrete at different stages of the production process. The effects of PCE polymers on concrete mix design and cement grinding are analysed. In order to compare different options regarding their environmental footprint, life cycle assessment techniques are used to assess the impacts associated with the use of PCE polymers.
