Abstract

Volume of cement production in Republic of Belarus amounted to 4.2 mln t in 2008, and 4,34 mln t of cement were produced in 2009. About 25 % of the total production volume is manufactured applying the dry method. Average specific fuel consumption for clinker burning in cement plants totals 201.8 kg of standard fuel per 1 ton of clinker, specific consumption of electric power totals 116.8 kWt-hour per ton of cement.

Level of cement production is unable to satisfy needs of the national construction sector, which are expected to reach 9.0 mln t a year by the year 2015.

It is planned to solve this problem by means of both, utilization of reserves of the existing production capacities, and construction of new facilities, for which modern achievements, and technology of cement production according to the dry method will be used. This should enable to reduce specific consumption of heat energy by 19.2 % (Table 1).
