Abstract

In the production of calcium aluminate cement, experimental data from factories were used for some time. But upon further investigation and comparison of the results of chemical and x-ray phase analysis based on the raw mixture “limestone-bauxite”, it was found that there is a regular and repeated relationship between the percentage of oxides (CaO, SiO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3) and the mineralogical composition of the firing products.
Over time, there was a problem in the absence of high-quality aluminum-containing raw materials on the territory of the Russian Federation. And as a replacement for bauxite, they began to use a promising type of raw material — man-made waste stored in the dumps of processing plants or metallurgical plants.
Therefore, in order to assess the flow of the technological process, as well as to correct the chemical and mineralogical composition of the resulting cement, it is proposed to introduce a calcium aluminate module, which in the future will allow the synthesis and use of clinker of a given mineralogical composition from a multicomponent raw material charge based on technogenic materials.

Key words:

calcium aluminate cement, alumina cement, the Kühl formula , aluminum (III) oxide, calcium monoaluminate
