Abstract

Classical data on the dynamics of the dry building mixes (DBM) market development are well known and are presented by a number of companies respected on the market. Classical market reviews are based on the data obtained by different means in accordance with the end product volume. We will try to analyze the state of DBM market in terms of the consumption volume of the special chemical raw materials that are used in DBM production.
To obtain this “raw material” model we will have to make a number of simplifications and assumptions.
It is well known that it is the use of special chemical raw materials or modified additives that distinguishes DBM from less technologically advanced cement- or gypsum-containing unmodified mixtures. That is, we emphasize the fact that the term DBM according to established practice usually attributed to the modified mixtures.
Based on our many years of experience, we tend to believe that we can analyze trends in the DBM market with sufficient accuracy on the basis of consumption analysis of the following three types of chemical raw materials: cellulose esters (CE), redispersible polymer powders (RPP), or “black boxes” (BB) — unique blend modifying compositions imported to Russia by some international companies to use on their Russian plants.
