Abstract
Having analyzed the situation, which has developed in the market of dry building mixtures (DBM) in 2015, members of Association “Union of dry building mixtures producers” (SPSSS) have concluded that quality of production, which turns out on the market, decreased throughout several years. This was facilitated by price competition between producers of mixtures. The voluntary product certification in place at the time did not meet the challenge of product quality control. The certificate could be purchased for 10–15 thousand rubles without product testing. Producers did not bear any responsibility for the production of poor quality products. However, market leaders continued to control the quality of their products in their production laboratories, and did not reduce the technical characteristics. This situation led to unequal competitive conditions. To change the situation, the SPSSS Association took action to change the form of conformity assessment from voluntary to mandatory. This makes it possible to hold producers who make poor quality products accountable.
