Abstract

Only just now the new Russian state standard GOST 31108, harmonized with EN 197–1, which was formally introduced on the territory of Russia in 2003, becomes really applicable.

A full switch to the new standard has been executed at all plants of the companies and groups «Eurocement Group», Mordovcement, Serebryakovcement, Spasskcement. The work is in progress at Iskitimcement, Achinsky Cement and at other cement plants. Actually, a sufficient share of Russian cement plants including the majority of large enterprises, has already switched to the work according to GOST 31108. Nearly all cement imported to Russia is classified in accordance with this standard. It should be noted that many cement companies from CIS countries, such as Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Central Asia, have also switched or being in a progress of introducing the new standard.

Thus, a problem of transfer of the Russian cement industry to the work according to GOST 31108 becomes rather routine. The sooner plant laboratories have equipment necessary to test cement in accordance with GOST 30744, the sooner the transition process will be completed.
