Abstract
On the basis of scientific and practically applicable paradoxes that arise in silicate technologies, using the example of developed innovative and efficient methods for production of white Portland cement (WPC), ceramics, and glass, opportunities for their application with employment of non-conventional techniques are considered.
In particular, based on the law of cocrystallization of clinker phases and admixtures, which is used to generate especially pure substances of semiconductor silicon, the problem has been resolved of neutralization of intensive coloring of clinker minerals, namely, alite and belite, with iron admixtures at their crystallization from the melt. That made possible the development of a method of WPC clinker bleaching by quenching in water and producing superwhite cement.
Inconsistencies are considered in the definition and the theoretical and practical nature of the sintering process, which is the most important process in silicate technology.
Key words:
paradox; silicate technology; ceramics; glass; white Portland cement; the law of cocrystallization of phases and admixtures; bleaching by quenching in water
