Abstract

The potential of contemporary plants manufacturing cellular concrete in Russia can not be fully realized as the regulatory system currently in force which had been developed on the base of the former USSR’s normative documents, does not match with physical-technical characteristics of products made of cellular concrete, manufactured by contemporary plants yet.

What are the main differences between newly contemporary plants built in Russia for manufacturing new-generation cellular concrete and still operating old plants?

First, in contemporary plants the process of preparation and dosage of raw materials is fully automated. This provides high homogeneity of materials, both in volume weight and in strength characteristics.

Second, cutting equipment allows to manufacture products with high precision – up to ±1 mm for height and ±1,5 mm for width. This allows to apply instead of usual masonry mortars the laying with adhesive cement (thin-dispersed mortar).

Third, production capacity of new plants is 3 times higher than that of old ones.
