Abstract

In our work, the parameters of compressible packing model are determined for realistic mixtures having a specific humidity. With such parameters, the calculated packing density depends on the packing process and reproduces experimental data with a high degree of accuracy (1–5%). The distribution size of grains constituent the aggregates are the only inputs for calculations. The results of numerical simulations are presented as the function of the packing density of a mixture on a relative amount (by mass) of the fine aggregate for loosely poured, packed and pressed under vibrations states of mixtures. For the experimental validation of simulated conclusions, the fine and coarse aggregates taken from Tomsk Kudrovsk’s and Kandinsk’s quarries have been used. Theoretical and experimental results are in a good agreement thus providing a possibility for a broad application of efficient computational tools to optimize the concrete mixtures based on a granulometric analysis.
