Abstract

It has been 15 years since global Sika company had opened its Russian branch. Within this period company has grown from pure import operations to leading Russian producer of various construction products (i.e. concrete admixtures, polycarboxylates (PCE), dry mortars, epoxy floorings, PVC membranes). Our deepest localization was that of concrete admixtures production as well as of PCEs — key raw material for concrete admixtures production. In present work we want to describe key steps of development of concrete admixture target market of our business in Russian Federation. Influence of Russian concrete admixture market and availability of local raw materials for admixture and PCE production on Sika Russia production projects will be discussed in this paper. We will also discuss current market of modern superplasticizers for concrete and give our recommendations for development of construction market in general and of modern superplasticizers for concrete market in particular.
