Abstract

The cement industry is a primary industry among the group of construction material making industries. At present time cement factories’ accumulated depreciation exceeds 50%. Not only the equipment has become out of date, but the very production techniques. More than 85% of cement and clinker in Russia is produced with «wet method» — the most power-consuming method of production.

One of the reasons for underloading of cement factories’ production capacities (not above 73%) is a bad state of process and dust separation equipment, lack of funds for their timely renewal. At present time practically all the dust separation equipment is used since the first day of activity of enterprise, a part of units has worked out their depreciation reserve and is in need of replacement or reconstruction. Cyclones, electric filters, hose filters, granular-bed filters deployed at the most of the factories in the dust separation systems are installed twenty or more years ago and provide separation efficiency not above 90–96%. Nowadays precedents of withdrawal of a license for basic activity appear because of the breach of environmental mitigation measures schedule.

Such factors as the lack of the high-performance dust separation and gas cleaning equipment at the cement industry factories, as well as the environmental demands stiffening, low rates of progress of the new cement factories construction can become constraining factors of providing the cement market in full on the condition of retaining the current rates of the construction.

According to the «Branch Rules of Cement Factories Technology Design» 06. 1986, practically for all process equipment, excluding clinker kilns, grate coolers and basic material and additions drying drums, it was recommended to install hose filters as a second or the only filtering stage. Thirty-twenty years ago designers used in projects filter hoses as woven fabric (double coarse calico, belting and others). — cotton, lavsan and nylon with operating temperatures not above 120°С. Filter hoses of these materials are in use thus still at many factories.
