Abstract
Alumina cement is a fast-hardening binding material when exposed into the air or water, basic properties of which are defined by a domination of low-basic calcium aluminates in its composition. Alumina cement takes up a special position in a range of specialised binding materials. This material possesses extreme goodness, first of all a fast-stiffening ability. It features by high chemical resistance to corrosive mediums, and is one of the main components of expanding cements. The basis for creation of alumina cement lies in the fundamental research works by D.S. Belyankin, N.A. Toropov, V.V. Lapin, O.M. Astreeva, M.F. Chebukov, I.V. Kravchenko and many other scientists.
