Abstract

We have studied the effect of the type of metakaolin on the processes of hydration and hardening of the cement stone. It was established that additives studied are actively interact with Са(ОН) 2 with the formation of hexagonal and cubic calcium hydroaluminates and low crystallized hydrated calcium silicates with different basicity. It was proved that the introduction of metakaolin into the composition of cement leads to the increase in strength of cement stone, improvement of frost resistance and resistance to corrosion of the cement stone and decrease of its porosity.

Key words:

additive; metakaolin; cement hydration; increase in strength; improvement of freeze-thaw resistance; frost resistance
