FACTORS DETERMINING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SHOTCRETE ACCELERATORS

Abstract
Alkaline-free accelerators are the relatively new type of setting accelerators, extremely effective in wet shotcreting technology. Unlike traditional accelerators, which are specific compounds (silicates, aluminates, alkali metal carbonates), the commercial alkali-free accelerators represent a complex system of salts of unknown composition, which does not allow predicting their effectiveness when using various cements. The study compares the effectiveness of laboratory samples of alkaline and alkali-free accelerators in concrete based on various cements, analyzes the influence of mineralogy of Portland cement clinker, dosage of accelerators and type of superplasticizer on the strength of shotcrete in early and late terms.
