External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) have been used for decades for improving thermal resistance of building’s envelopes, but also to create a healthy and comfortable living environment. Today they have established to improve the energy efficiency of new and existing buildings. The European ETICS market is huge, and promises potential for future growth as ETICS offer perfect opportunities to achieve Europe’s climate and energy goals.
To release full potential — that might generate additional jobs and economic growth — a Common Market for construction products would be beneficial. This requires harmonised technical assessments. The work is complex and challenging, but CEN experts are on a good way to finalize the documents in the near future.
